Welcome

Dear Colleagues

It is a great pleasure to invite you to the 2009 biennial conference of the Association of Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics (AOPT). The conference will be the ninth meeting of the society and it will be held in Salzburg, Austria between February 18th and 21st of 2009.

Salzburg, founded in 696, is a beautiful city in the heart of Europe and commonly known for being the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Sound of Music and its famous music festivals. However, during the past decades major efforts were taken by the local authorities to support the development of medical sciences and as a consequence of the growing scientific community more and more meetings of international societies are held in the region of Salzburg.

The purpose of AOPT is to encourage and advocate research, training, publication, and dissemination of knowledge in ocular pharmacology and therapeutics. The activity of AOPT in Salzburg is greatly appreciated and the conference will be a great opportunity to enjoy the high standards of education in the eye sciences.

The topics of the 2009 conference will emphasize the new developments in ocular pharmacology and therapy of
